FREUNDE + FAMILIE + HERKUNFT

"I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the Donots at festivals all over Europe. There positive punk-rock spirit and DIY ethos have inspired in many ways. Including the decision for Flogging Molly to start our own label 'Borstal Beat Records'. Cheers friends!"
Nathen Maxwell, Flogging Molly, Bunny Gang

"I first met the Donots almost ten years ago, when they invited Midtown to open for them on what was to become our first tour of Europe. In my years of travelling since, I have yet to meet a band as rad as The Donots. They taught me much about how to balance having fun and not taking yourself too seriously, with still living up to a high level of professionalism and awesomeness. But most importantly, The Donots showed me that friendship and caring for others are the foundations for happiness and longevity in music. . . . also, they taught me the hard way that Germans aren't circumcised."
Gabe Saporta, Cobra Starship/Midtown
"With The Donots it's a family affair and not just because of Ingo and Guido being brothers, it's the affect they have on their audience, a feeling of welcome and belonging. I spent three weeks in a nightliner with them so I should know. Above all it's about chemistry which they've wisely nurtured and developed over these many years now. Like the Ruhrpott, the greatness of The Donots is the sum of it's parts, it's family."
Walter Schreifels, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools

"For years we've had the pleasure of knowing & sharing the stage w/Germanys very own Donots. A band who not only poured their heart and soul into their music, but did just that with a highly energetic and positive attitude that could be imitated but never truly replicated. Some great individuals with remarkable talents!"
Hot Water Music
Erik Langer, Kettcar
"When my favourite German band asked me to sing a song on their record, I said yes instantly, and I'm glad I did - it's all killer and no filler, you need this in your life."
Frank Turner
"Donots, our friends since waaay back. An awesome and extremely hard working band that rocks much harder and faster than Scooter!"
Millencolin
"My band toured europe with the Donots several times before they were rich and famous, so I'm not really impressed. Ha. NO...I'm really impressed...way to go boys. Anyway, I could spew some fluff about how talented they are or how good looking they are in their new video, but I'd rather point out that Ingo is also a great cartoonist. I remember him periodically drawing pictures of members of his band, Errortype:11 and my band, then leaving them around the bus (3 bands and crew shared one smelly vehicle) for people to come across. Sort of a mobile art opening. Things went well when Artie found his portait, I was proud to see mine, Sean chuckled when he saw his...but Ingo is such a talented artist that when Jason, the singer of Samiam, came across his, he wasso mad that he didn't speak to him for 2 days! I bet now, a decade later, when Ingo is mentioned Jason probably says under his breath, 'fuck that guy and fuck his shitty-assed band'."
Sergie Loobkoff, Samiam
